Starting and Driving
Bike on centerstand. Fill Gas tank with 2% oil added to fuel (Regular unleaded low octane Gas). If you are using our 2% oil cup then fill the cup with 2-cycle oil once for each gallon of gas and put it in the tank before adding the gas. That will help in the blending/mixing during refueling. The Gas tank holds 2 gallons. Not too full to prevent leaking on gas cap. Turn fuel lever up for regular tank (not on RESERVE). Make sure bike is in NEUTRAL then pull the choke knob under the front seat unless the engine was already running and warmed up. When pulling on the choke knob hold it out with your left hand otherwise it will auto retract due to a spring load on it. On a level surface stand on the right side of the bike then Kick Start using either your left or right foot to depress the kick starter lever. Depress fast and somewhat hard. Add some gas during ignition of the motor. Let idle for a few minutes to warm up. Release and depress the choke knob. While sitting on the bike and using the left handle pull in the clutch lever and then twist up one notch (marked on the left handle bar by the grip) to the 1st gear. Put both feet on the ground and push off of the center stand while HOLDING IN THE CLUTCH LEVER. Now for moving forward. While slowly releasing the clutch lever provide some gas. This is done with the right hand (slight twisting forward). After about 10-15 MPH shift to the next gear while holding in the clutch lever. This will require you to twist the gear shift in the opposite direction. Turn down the gas (reverse the grip) and swiftly close the clutch lever and twist/shift forward to the 2nd gear (twisting the left hand forward passed NEUTRAL) and once 2nd is selected quickly release the clutch and add gas with the right hand. Continue this same procedure for 3rd and 4th gears depending on the speed desired. TO STOP or SLOW DOWN: When slowing or stopping you should break with the FOOT BRAKE as primary and only use the right lever (FRONT BRAKE) when an emergency stop is necessary or when traveling under 20 MPH. While slowing (reducing the gas) engage the clutch and change (twist the left shift lever to the appropriate gear). CAUTION: Do not move to 1st gear unless completely STOPPED. Always release the clutch when it is NEUTRAL position (DOT to DOT marks lined up). Park the bike on the center stand by depressing the center stand with your left foot to the ground level and then pull the bike back swiftly onto the center stand.
